What is a Community Plan?

Acording to the Legal Aid foundation, a community plan sets the general land use principles and policies for a specific area of the city which determines the desirable future growth patterns in a local area and to encourage development that addresses prevailing neighborhood issues.

The City of Los Angeles is made up of 35 separete Community Plans set forth under the "Land Use Element" of the seven state mandated elements of the general plan.
